Our universe
Combinaut has its own universe of elements. That is the single most important thing to know about it, and it explains almost everything else.
What "its own universe" actually means
Every combination in Combinaut was generated by us, for Combinaut. Nothing here is copied from another game, scraped from another site, or imported from someone else's dataset. When you combine two elements, the answer comes from our own database, which we built and which we are responsible for.
That has a consequence worth stating plainly: our recipes will sometimes disagree with other crafting games. Those games generated their own answers too. There is no shared authority that decides what fire and water should make, so two independently generated universes drift apart almost immediately.
If you came here looking for a different game's recipe
You are very welcome to stay, but you should know what you are reading. If you are trying to finish something in a different crafting game, our answer may not work there. We would rather tell you that up front than have you try a combination that does nothing and conclude the guide was wrong. If the game you came from was the one at neal.fun, Combinaut vs Infinite Craft sets the two side by side.
Infinite Craft is a game by Neal Agarwal, at neal.fun. Combinaut is an independent game with its own universe of elements, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to neal.fun or Neal Agarwal.
How the universe is made
We start from four base elements and work outwards, asking a language model what each new pairing should produce. The first answer for a pair is written to our database and kept forever, which is what makes the game consistent: the model is asked once, and after that the database is the authority. Ask for the same pair a year later and you get the same result, even though a language model on its own would not be that stable.
Results are filtered before they are stored. Anything malformed, anything that just repeats one of its own inputs, and anything that trips our content filter is rejected rather than published. The filter is not optional: a language model combining arbitrary concepts will eventually produce something it should not, and a lot of the people playing this are children.
Where the universe is today
The catalogue currently holds 6,412 elements across 44,177 combinations. It grows: combinations nobody has discovered yet are generated overnight and are usually available the next day.

How to play covers the controls in a minute. The catalogue is browsable alphabetically. About explains what the game is and how it is paid for, and the FAQ answers the rest. On a slow or filtered connection, see unblocked.
What we will not do
- We will not present Combinaut as another company's game, or imply that we are connected to one.
- We will not use another site's scraped combination data, even where a copy is freely available. Our data is ours.
- We will not gate the game behind a signup, an email, an ad break, or a countdown. It loads and you play.
