Combinaut infinite crafting game

Privacy

We do not collect personal information. This page explains what that means concretely.

What we do not do

We do not ask for your name, email address, age or location. There is no account, no login and no newsletter. We do not show ads in the game, and we do not sell or share anything about you. The one thing we do run is a visitor counter, and it has its own section below rather than a footnote.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visitors. It tells us how many people came, which pages they read, roughly which country they were in and what kind of device they used. It does not tell us who anyone is, and we never see anything that identifies you personally.

To do that it stores a cookie in your browser, so that you coming back tomorrow is not counted as a second person. Google processes this on our behalf and their own privacy policy covers what they do with it.

If you would rather not be counted, any browser setting or extension that blocks analytics will stop it, and the game works exactly the same either way. Nothing here is used to decide what you see.

Your game progress

The elements you discover are stored in your own browser using local storage. They never leave your device and we cannot read them. Clearing your browser data clears them. Because they are local, they do not follow you to another device, which is a real trade we made deliberately rather than an oversight.

What our server sees

When you make a combination that is not already in our database, your browser sends us the two element names so we can generate the result. We store the combination and its result, because that is the database. We do not store who asked for it.

Like any website, our host processes technical request information such as IP address in order to serve the page and to stop abuse. We do not build profiles from it.

Children

We know many players are under 18. The reason there is no signup, no email field and no server-side player data is precisely that: the safest way to protect information is not to collect it. If you believe we hold information about a child, contact us and we will remove it, though in normal operation there is nothing to remove.

Changes

If this ever changes, this page changes with it, and the change will be described here rather than folded silently into a longer document. For what the game actually is, see about; for the shorter answers, the FAQ.
